$2,500 Sign-On Bonus! The Tractor Technician maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting equipment deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; and keeping accurate records.
- Diagnosing tractor issues on multiple makes and models of diesel equipment.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on diesel tractors, including tire wear, wheel-end components, and suspension systems.
- Conducting preventative maintenance inspections on tractors and related equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing engine components, emission systems, aftertreatment, ABS, air conditioning, and clutch brake systems.
- Troubleshooting electrical and safety systems, including collision mitigation and traction control.
- Correcting equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
- Installing components such as cab extenders, fenders, glass, and structural parts as needed.
- Verifying vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting systems.
- Maintaining accurate vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Ensuring compliance with company safety procedures and federal and state regulations.
- Abiding by all Company yard control safety guidelines
- Experience: 1 or more years of related experience working on Class 8 tractors (2+ years preferred for advanced diagnostics).
Education: A high school diploma or GED required. Diesel Technician certification or commensurate experience preferred.
Certifications: The following certifications are required (or must be obtained within a specified timeframe):
- 609 A/C Certification
- ASE Brake Certification (or equivalent)
- ASE PMI Certification
- Air Brake Certification
- Federal Inspector & Brake Certificatio
- Preferred: Valid CDL Class B or above & PA Class 7 State Inspection License.
