Shop Supervisor
Description
The Shop Supervisor will oversee daily operations of the local shop and assigned service trucks, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment. This role will be responsible for managing shop processes, maintaining equipment, supervising staff, and achieving operational objectives in alignment with company, OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the shop and service trucks, ensuring safety and compliance with safety programs and regulations.
- Oversee equipment repairs, breakdowns, and part procurement while ensuring adherence to Safety and DOT standards.
- Maintain vendor relationships for maintenance services, ensuring quality, pricing, and timely turnarounds.
- Supervise and develop staff, driving engagement and meeting maintenance productivity goals.
- Manage parts and inventory, ensuring efficiency and organization.
- Assist with facility maintenance and general upkeep, including snow removal.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and clear communication within the shop and with customers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements.
- Stay updated on technical changes and equipment specifications.
- Promote NAPA’s Core Values through leadership and day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years of previous fleet maintenance leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols, DOT regulations & equipment repair processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, solutions-focused and motivated to help others.
- Ability to meet established eligibility criteria as outlined in NAPA’s job posting policy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform tasks that include standing, sitting, bending, and walking, and work in various environmental conditions (temperature fluctuations, noise, dust, etc.).
