Driver Safety Trainer
Description
The Driver Safety Trainer is responsible for supporting NAPA Transportation, Inc.’s safety culture through effective coaching and training of Drivers, engagement and education of operations staff, and proactive efforts aimed at accident and injury mitigation..
Responsibilities
- Mitigate company safety exposure through effective risk management.
- Enforce safety policy and procedures through engagement and education.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all employees.
- Develop driver manager safety acumen to achieve shared safety goals.
- Conduct Smith System and pre/post trip inspection refresher training.
- Respond to safety related incidents and conduct investigations to prevent recurrence.
- Develop self in role through ongoing education efforts as assigned by director or HR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of transportation experience required.
- A high school diploma or GED required. Bachelors’ degree preferred or commensurate experience.
- Onboard camera and electronic logging systems experience preferred.
- Valid Class A CDL preferred, but not required.
- Excellent & effective written, listening, verbal and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills; ability to plan, organize & prioritize workload based on company objectives.
- Highly detailed oriented & results driven; proven ability to perform at a high level consistently.
- Achieve or exceed all performance based goals & deadlines.
