$2,500 SIGN-ON BONUS! The Diesel Technician A performs mastery level diagnostics and repairs, and is responsible for training other Diesel Technicians. The Diesel Technician A requires an expert level of knowledge and skills within their field.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose emission systems per state & federal regulations.
  • Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and complex diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Diagnose and repair Opti idle issues.
  • Responsible for training other mechanics on various repairs and the ability to influence positive change as it relates to diagnostic and repair procedures.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to repair collision mitigation, traction control and roll stability systems.
  • Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  • Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintains accurate vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 5 or more years related experience required.
  • Proficient in computer diagnostic systems: Detroit, Cummins, PACCAR
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair complex issues
  • Class 7 PA State Inspection License
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED required. Diesel Mechanic Certification or commensurate experience required.
